Job Summary
International Tax Manager at GHJ to lead U.S. international tax compliance and reporting for a diverse client portfolio, supervise complex filings (including 5471/5472/8858/8865/8621/1120-F and related W-8s), and analyze earnings and profits, foreign tax credits, Subpart F and GILTI. Role includes evaluating withholding and treaty positions, addressing inbound/outbound tax questions, performing technical tax research, and translating findings into actionable client advice. You will manage multiple engagements, mentor staff, collaborate with partners, and contribute to the growth of GHJ’s international tax practice with a focus on accuracy, practical risk identification, and high-quality deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification required
- 5+ years of relevant public accounting or professional services experience in U.S. international tax
- Experience reviewing complex international tax filings (Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 1120-F)
- Working knowledge of international tax concepts (E&P, Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits)
- Experience with withholding tax, treaty analysis, and cross-border ownership structures
- Ability to mentor staff, coach teams, manage multiple engagements and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; client-service orientation
- Proficiency with tax software; comfort with process improvement and tech-enabled workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field; CPA; Master of Taxation/LL.M./J.D. highly preferred
