Job Summary
International Student Recruitment Officer responsible for developing and implementing Cape Breton University's internationalization strategy and marketing activities. Manage Educational Consultant Agreements and nurture relationships with consultants, counselors, agents, and partners. Cultivate student leads, represent CBU in diverse international markets and within Canada, support recruitment initiatives, provide information to prospective students, and assist with admissions-related inquiries. Maintain knowledge of international education systems and trends, support digital and social media recruitment, and contribute to planning, reporting, and development of cooperative opportunities. Requires travel, strong communication skills, intercultural sensitivity, and ability to work in a team; minimum undergraduate degree and two years of related experience; 12-month limited-term, full-time position with CUPE Local 3131 designation.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an undergraduate degree (CBU graduate preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Highly motivated, focused and results-oriented with the ability to meet expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of the principles of appreciative advising
- Enthusiasm for CBU
- Initiative and flexibility to do the work that needs to be done
- Adept in the use of social media
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with tact and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Flexibility for travel and non-traditional working hours. A valid passport and driver’s license are required.
