Job Summary
International Recruitment Advisor role focused on front-line support for prospective international students from inquiry to offer/acceptance. Serves as primary contact for assigned caseload, responds to inquiries across programs, timelines, housing, and student life, and coordinates with recruitment, admissions, marketing, colleges, and GPS teams to connect applicants with the appropriate expertise. Manages engagement with applicants and offer-holders to improve conversion through timely, accurate information and referrals to GPS as needed. Responsibilities span lead engagement, stakeholder management, student support, navigation of the admission journey, and use of institutional platforms (Slate CRM, WhatsApp Business, Email). Requires on-campus presence in Guelph, Ontario three days per week; supports undergraduate and course-based master’s programs for international fee-paying students, within and outside Canada. Strong emphasis on relationship-building, cross-cultural communication, de-escalation, and collaboration across multiple units to guide students from inquiry through admission and transition.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- 2+ years of experience in a student-facing, service-oriented role within higher education, international education, or a related field
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Slate) and digital communication platforms (e.g., email, chat, WhatsApp Business or similar tools)
- Fluency in more than one language is an asset
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage high-volume engagement and multi-task in a cross-cultural context
- Ability to build relationships and provide high-touch, customer-focused experience
