Job Summary

Schedule weekly congressional meetings by emailing target staff and adding Zoom links to calendars. Monitor Politico Pro hearings and votes to update Bread GR and PRI calendars. Prepare leave-behind folders with international policy asks and assist with planning for the Farm Bill fly-in and Advocacy Summit. Scrub the GR Team Politico Pro Dashboard and attend committee hearings to provide written summaries. Record monthly IWGFA meeting minutes, draft agendas, and follow up on actions. Prepare a 5-page paper and slide deck on effective international humanitarian assistance strategies in Congress. Engage with staff on additional projects as requested while maintaining the Bread Code of Ethics.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BA or BS degree
  • some prior office work experience
  • Experience in advocacy with the US Congress
  • Demonstrated interest in US policy making and advocacy or vulnerable populations globally
  • Strong relationship, administrative and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written, oral, and electronic)
  • Be detail-oriented, flexible, organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to think critically about complex issues
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite, database software and Internet
  • Willingness to learn
  • Commitment to the mission of Bread for the World
