International Income Tax Advisor/Lead Tax Advisor

Job Summary
Support U.S. international tax compliance for Chevron's global operations by preparing, reviewing, and modeling calculations for GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, and foreign tax credits. Produce accurate, audit-ready workpapers and filings while supporting international income tax provision under ASC 740. Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze transaction implications and monitor legislative changes, utilizing AI-enabled tools to streamline data gathering and reporting. Manage tax audits and controversy matters by organizing documentation and responding to authority inquiries. This role requires 5+ years of corporate tax experience, a Bachelor's degree (MST or CPA preferred), and proficiency in CorpTax and SAP. Located in Houston, Texas, the position offers full-time employment without relocation or visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of corporate income tax experience
- significant U.S. international tax compliance and reporting experience in a multinational corporate tax department and/or public accounting firm
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. international tax rules, including areas such as GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, E&P/PTEP, and related reporting obligations
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting U.S. international tax forms and calculations (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills
- proficiency in data analysis and modeling
- experience with Power Query, Power BI, or similar digital tools
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, manage multiple priorities independently, and lead complex projects or initiatives
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to producing well-documented, audit-ready work products
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP / ASC 740
- Relocation is not offered for this role
