Job Summary
Review international student applications and make independent admission decisions. Conduct day-to-day communications with prospective students via phone, email, and in-person meetings to guide them through the inquiry, application, and enrollment process. Plan and execute outreach activities including recruitment travel, on-campus programs, and hosting visitors. Manage the international admission email account, develop communication strategies for parents and students, and supervise immigration mailings and promotional material distribution. Collaborate with admissions, records, and financial aid staff to ensure applicants have necessary information, and represent the university at college fairs and secondary schools. Liaise with Transfer Enrollment Services to coordinate recruitment and advisement for international transfer students.
Required Qualifications
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years experience in international admissions and recruitment, international student services, or campus internationalization activities
- Ability to mange time and balance multiple and fast changing responsibilities and priorities
- Ability to independently responds to and composes correspondence
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed, detailed and results oriented with the ability to maintain multiple projects
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate in a culturally appropriate manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated computer competency and proficiency in common internet and web technologies, standard spreadsheet and relational database software, such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- Fluency in a foreign language a plus
