Job Summary
RECE/DA Before and After School Educator supporting children and families at Gatestone Centre. Role includes greeting children, assisting transitions from home to program, engaging in meaningful activities using a programming cart, providing morning snacks, supervising indoor/outdoor play, and facilitating activities aligned with How Does Learning Happen? while ensuring safety and well-being. Requires ECE credential and active registration, vaccination proof, and standard first aid; schedule Monday–Friday with split morning/afternoon shifts; pay per collective agreement for RECE or non-RECE respectively; part-time role with comprehensive benefits in a unionized environment.
Required Qualifications
- ECE Diploma OR educational requirements to obtain Director’s Approval for working alone with children
- Good standing with College of ECE
- First Aid with CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Immunizations up-to-date (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
- Experience in childcare settings
- Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?
- Program planning for JK/SK and school-aged children
- Strong communication and organizational skills
