Job Summary
Maintain training matrices for Operations and J-STD-001 certification requirements while providing advanced soldering and application techniques to Operators as work defects occur. Create and disseminate specialized training documentation for processes like lifted pads and rework, then review and qualify workmanship against J-STD-001 acceptance criteria. Order training supplies including IPC certificates and soldering kits, ensuring Operators maintain scheduled training to meet certification standards. Implement improvement opportunities such as Zero Defect Plans and audit manufacturing processes to confirm compliance. Work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off in Dulles, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience
- Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience
- PhD with 1 year of professional experience
- Additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience within electronics manufacturing/inspection of PCBs, electronic assemblies, cable/wire harness assemblies, and related technologies
- Experienced in the application of polymerics
- Current Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)
- NASA Certified Level B Certification for IPC-J-STD001 w/ the space addendum
- NASA Certified Level B Certification for NASA-STD-8731.1 Polymerics
- NASA Certified Level B Certification for IPC 7711/7721 Rework and Repair
- NASA Certified Level B Certification for IPC-A-610 – Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (Printed Wiring Boards)
- NASA Certified Level B Certification for IPC-A-620 – Practices and requirements for the manufacture of cable, wire, and harness assemblies
- 10% travel
- 9/80 schedule
- Every other Friday off

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in flight harness and circuit card manufacturing and rework / repair
- Advanced presentation and classroom management skills
- Experience in PCB soldering and rework /repair
- Experience in driving continual improvement and problem resolution and performing audits of manufacturing processes to confirm compliance, identify risk and opportunities
