Job Summary
Family Advocate position focusing on acting as a liaison between the organization and families of children with autism. Responsibilities include building relationships with families and community organizations, promoting ABC’s mission and ABA services, organizing events/workshops for families, advocating for families, gathering testimonials for process improvement, and performing related duties. Requires strong communication, empathy, ability to travel regionally, and a bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of community-engagement experience. Travel up to two to three weeks at a time during campaign surges; benefits package included. Location: Chicago, IL (onsite/hybrid considerations not specified; remote work not indicated).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (preferred in Public Relations, Operations or Business, Human Resources, Social Work or related field)
- 1+ years of community engagement or relations experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel within designated regions and across regions as required
- Travel requirement of two to three weeks at a time during campaign surges
- Ability to work with diverse communities
- Fluency in Spanish not required but preferred (if applicable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
