Job Summary
Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and Student Learning to prepare, implement, and evaluate district staff development on elementary in-service days. Serve as a liaison between buildings and the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department while communicating session topics, products, and notes via shared Google Doc. Plan and implement professional development for Opening Institute Day, quarterly Staff Development Days, and one after-school workshop or book discussion annually. Lead reflection on curricular initiatives including Amplify CKLA, Illustrative Math, Mystery Science, SEL, and NWEA MAP assessments. Communicate positively with administrators, teachers, and Central Office personnel. Requires a one-year commitment for the 2026-2027 school year and attendance at four Professional Development Days.
Required Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of curriculum design and development in the district
- Ability to form strong professional relationships with colleagues
- Proven commitment to professional growth
- Understanding of and ability to support the implementation of resources and programs at specific grade level
- Ability to work with a grade-level partner(s) to plan, facilitate and coordinate professional development activities for district grade-level teams
- Ability to differentiate presentation materials to be inclusive of all special programs (i.e., special education, ESL)
- Current Urbana School District #116 Employee
- Requires at least a one-year commitment for the 2026-2027 school year
Desired Qualifications
- preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit to the four Professional Development Days, Quarterly Meetings with the Director of Curriculum and Student Learning, and Opening Day Professional Development
