Job Summary
Internal Medicine Provider responsible for comprehensive primary care for adults, including diagnosing, treating, and managing a broad range of conditions in accordance with clinic protocols at Oyate Health Center. Responsibilities include performing examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, providing medical or surgical treatment or referrals, maintaining medical records and electronic health records (EHR), counseling patients, mentoring students, and participating in clinic quality improvement. Must comply with HIPAA, maintain licenses and credentials, promote vaccination/immunization compliance, and adapt to flexible scheduling including evenings or travel as needed. Ability to work with American Indian populations and respect tribal practices is emphasized; candidates should have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, board-eligible/board-certified status, permanent license to practice in South Dakota, and current immunizations including COVID-19 vaccination. Supervisory and non-supervisory responsibilities are described, with focus on professional conduct, patient-centered care, and collaboration with tribal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school and successful completion of post graduate training and an approved residency program.
- Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of South Dakota, or ability to obtain full or temporary license prior to start date. Full and unrestricted license must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
- Must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment.
- ACLS certification, and PALS certification required.
