Job Summary
Diagnose and treat localized ailments and diseases, conduct and supervise direct patient care, and execute disease prevention and health programs. Command medical units, perform staff functions in health support, and conduct medical research on diseases of military importance. Participate in medical education and training while supporting humanitarian missions. Train to become a leader in internal medicine with access to specialized leadership training. Requirements include a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree, a current U.S. medical license, board certification eligibility, and completion of at least one year of graduate medical education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens between 21 and 42 years of age. Eligibility for loan repayment, accessions bonuses, and the Uniformed Services Blended Retirement System is available.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
- Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
- Eligibility for board certification
- Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)
- U.S. citizenship
