Job Summary
Clinical Director for Adult Medicine & Specialty Department seeking an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to provide direct patient care and lead department operations. The role involves overseeing clinical operations, provider workflow, patient satisfaction, and financial performance in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases, while delivering direct clinical care and administrative oversight. The candidate should bring experience in recruitment, compliance, supervision of APRNs/PAs, data-driven decision making, and a track record of strategic leadership in a large health-center setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Willingness and ability to deliver high quality patient care
- Familiarity with underserved populations with complex needs
- Business experience in large health center or private practice as Director or Associate Director
- Experience with recruitment, on-boarding, retention and discipline of clinical providers, staff
- Familiarity with compliance issues related to clinical practice
- Experience supervising advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs)
- Ability to develop and participate in department strategic goals and direction
- Experience nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
- Quality-focused with understanding of ongoing professional practice evaluation
- Superior communication skills with staff, patients, external partners
- Ability to analyze data and make evidence-based decisions
- Experience contributing to enterprise-level projects
- Proficiency with electronic health record system
- Initiative, judgment, and discretion to achieve objectives
