Job Summary
Conduct intake assessments, urgent care, chronic disease management, and emergency stabilization for an underserved population in a correctional health environment. Manage approximately 2–3 patients per hour while coordinating specialty referrals and ensuring higher-acuity cases are safely transferred to Ben Taub Hospital. Operate within a collaborative, team-based model supported by RNs, NPs, PAs, and full ancillary services including on-site radiology and pharmacy. Practice exclusively on night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with a structured 7-shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Internal Medicine Physician
- Night Shift Only: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Full-time employed position (no locums/1099)
- 7 shifts per pay period
- Intake assessments and urgent care
- Chronic disease management
- Emergency stabilization (BLS level)
- Coordination of specialty referrals
- Collaborative, team-based care model
- Patient Volume: Approximately 2–3 patients per hour
- Higher-acuity cases are safely transferred to Ben Taub Hospital (Level I Trauma Center) nearby
