Job Summary
Support daily workflow and assist the Internal Medicine team in delivering patient care by safely restraining patients for examinations, diagnostics, and procedures using low-stress techniques. Obtain and document accurate medical histories, process diagnostic samples, and assist with procedural setup while anticipating the needs of doctors and technicians. Educate clients on treatment plans, coordinate appointments, and maintain department cleanliness and inventory. Work Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri from 7:00am to 5:30pm in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Veterinary Assistant experience preferred
- Prior patient restraint experience preferred
- Familiarity with Fear Free handling techniques is a plus
- Veterinary Assistant Certification preferred but not required
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Exceptional client service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
- Ability to lift and carry patients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to work at a computer and use a keyboard for prolonged periods
