Job Summary
The Post Doctoral Industrial Scientist will drive the development of innovative AFM applications, translating customer needs into practical measurement solutions. Responsibilities include leading AFM applications development with emphasis on electrical measurements and emerging technologies, applying AFM across nanomechanics, electronics, semiconductors, energy materials, and related areas; designing experiments, developing new methodologies, creating demonstration samples and workflows, and collaborating with engineering, product management, and commercial teams. The role also involves supporting sales through demonstrations and technical presentations, training teams on AFM systems, and presenting new developments at conferences and customer meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AFM or related nanoscale characterization techniques
- Experience in application areas such as electrical measurements, semiconductors, energy materials, etc.
- Extensive skill in high-level programming languages such as Python, IGOR, or MATLAB
- Proven ability to design experiments and translate concepts into practical solutions
- Strong attention to detail, collaboration and communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a creative, solutions-oriented mindset
