Job Summary
CDL A Internal Driver responsible for moving and spotting trailers, roll-offs, and containers within the yard and between company facilities. Duties include positioning trailers at docks and storage areas, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, documenting inbound/outbound materials, assisting with trailer hookups, and maintaining safe, organized yard operations in adherence to DOT regulations and company safety protocols. Requires at least 2 years of heavy-vehicle experience and CDL-A; role involves coordinating with dispatch and yard personnel, working outdoors, and a 4pm–12am shift from Cicero, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating commercial or heavy equipment vehicles
- Knowledge of basic vehicle safety, inspection, and preventive maintenance procedures
- Strong situational awareness and ability to safely maneuver equipment in confined or high-traffic areas
- Effective communication with Dispatch and Operations teams
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform outdoor work in varying conditions
- Experience in recycling, logistics, or material handling is a plus
