Job Summary
The VP Internal Auditor – Market Risk Management leads audits of Market Risk functions within the 2LoD across traded products and regional risk oversight teams. Responsibilities include assessing risk governance frameworks, limit structures, escalation processes, risk appetite adherence, identifying and assessing emerging risks, evaluating risk metrics such as VaR, expected shortfall, and stress measures, monitoring trading desk performance, governance over risk data aggregation and reporting, and developing data-driven testing procedures. The role requires applying AI-assisted techniques to enhance audit risk coverage and ensuring alignment with Basel III / FRTB, SR 11-7, and regulators. Qualifications emphasize deep Market Risk knowledge across asset classes, data analytics and automation proficiency, familiarity with regulatory standards, and strong stakeholder engagement for remediation and improvement. Certifications (FRM, CFA, CPA, CIA) are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline
- Professional certifications (FRM, CFA, CPA, CIA) preferred
- 7-10 years of experience in Internal Audit, Market Risk, or risk related functions within an investment bank or financial institution
- Demonstrated experience leading complex market risk audits across multiple jurisdictions or asset classes
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a small, global audit team and manage stakeholder relationships across functions and regions
- Exceptional understanding of Market Risk Management concepts, VaR, stress testing, risk metrics, governance structures
