Internal Audit Technician (Apprentice)

Job Summary
Conduct independent, objective assurance and consulting services to support assessment and improvement processes across analytical laboratories. Evaluate the effectiveness of operational areas including sample preparation, analytical testing, data reporting, and client services. Collaborate with operational teams while maintaining independence and objectivity to promote an ethical, risk-aware culture. Audit technical and operational processes related to laboratory scope of testing such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, Fire Assay, and LECO. Utilize strong analytical skills to identify risks, errors, or non-conformances and prepare clear reports for stakeholders. Requires minimum 4 GCSEs including Maths, Science, and English, plus a basic understanding of Chemistry. Overseas travel of up to two weeks per trip is required. Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to assess processes and data, with the ability to identify risks, errors, or non-conformances
- A questioning mind and alertness to potential misstatement of information due to error or fraud
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and present findings to stakeholders
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Google suite of applications
- Strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to manage a personal workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team, and to interact professionally with personnel at all levels
- A good general education (minimum 4 GCSE's Grades A-C or 9-5 including Maths, Science and English)
- A basic understanding of Chemistry
- Overseas travel, generally no more than two weeks per trip
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited analytical laboratory
- Experience in a quality, technical, or operational role
