Job Summary
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of internal audit projects across the organization, ensuring engagements align with International Professional Practices Global Internal Audit Standards. Supervise audit teams, identify key business risks, and oversee workpapers to guarantee consistency and accuracy. Prepare comprehensive audit reports, communicate findings to senior management, and follow up on management action plans. Apply data analytics and digital tools to enhance efficiency while mentoring staff and evolving audit methodologies. This role reports to the Deputy Head of Internal Audit within Syensqo's Lisbon office, supporting a global team of 13,000 associates in advancing a circular economy through science and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of proven experience in internal or external auditing
- preferably within an industrial company
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management, and governance principles
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and provide strategic recommendations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Fluency in English
- Travelling up to 20%
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are an asset
