Job Summary
Director-level Internal Audit, Operational Risk role based in Glasgow. Leads and supports execution of Operational Risk assurance activities (audits, continuous monitoring, closure verification) across EMEA and global coverage, partnering with global peers to assess risk and form views on control environments. Communicates risks to stakeholders in a clear, timely, and structured manner. Manages multiple deliverables aligned with team priorities; supports development of EMEA/global Audit Risk Assessments to inform audit planning. Requires strong understanding of audit principles, regulatory requirements (PRA, FCA, EU), data analytics, and senior-management presentation experience. Prefer undergraduate business degree (Finance/Accounting/Economics/Risk Management) and professional certifications (CIA, FRM, CRMA).
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role; Operational Risk experience with a financial services firm preferred
- Understanding of business line and key regulations relevant to coverage area
- Strong understanding of audit principles, methodology, tools and processes (e.g., risk assessments, planning, testing, reporting and continuous monitoring)
- Ability to identify and analyze multiple data sources to inform point of view
- Ability to ask meaningful questions, understand various viewpoints and adapt messaging accordingly
- A commitment to practicing inclusive behaviors
- Strong data analytics skills, including advanced use of Excel
- Experience presenting to senior management
- An undergraduate degree in business including Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management or equivalent preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIA, FRM, CRMA) preferred
