Job Summary
Assistant Director to lead Home First and in-house provider services (including hospital discharge pathways, community reablement, Occupational Therapy services, and three residential care homes, Shared Lives Scheme, and Dementia Hub). Responsibilities include strategic/operational leadership, MTFS delivery, and directing transformation programmes within adult social care, with emphasis on developing strengths-based practice and maintaining independence for clients. Requires degree-level education and registration with Social Work England or HCPC, extensive experience in frontline social care delivery, change management, and budget/resource oversight. Strong relationship-building, political astuteness, and leadership capabilities are essential; role involves safeguarding and ensuring English-language competence in public-facing duties.
Required Qualifications
- Degree level education
- Qualified Social Worker or allied health professional status
- Current Social Work England or HCPC registration
- Experience managing frontline social care delivery
- Experience managing specialist services with complex service delivery
- Understanding of relevant legislation
- Experience of managing change across a service area
- Experience of budgeting and resource management
- Experience of writing reports, specifications and agreements
- Ability to engage with colleagues, partners and clients at all levels
- Initiative and strategic problem-solving
