Job Summary
Social Work intern shadows and provides psychotherapy services including mental health assessments, individual and family psychotherapy, therapeutic behavioral support/case management, psychoeducation prevention services and consultation with school professionals, parents and students. Services are primarily provided in the school/community/home with telehealth as clinically indicated. Responsibilities include DSM-5 diagnostic understanding, individualized treatment plan development, maintaining a client caseload for psychotherapy and behavioral support, regular supervision, and documentation per ODMH standards. Eligible for the Ohio Higher Education Great Minds Fellowship; internship is unpaid and located in Cleveland, OH with in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work
- Active enrollment in a master’s degree program in social work
- Will obtain and maintain SWT status while working with clients
- Effective verbal and communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and adhere to organization values
- Shadowing and participation in supervision sessions
- Complete agency documentation per ODMH and best practices
- Attend regular supervision (minimum one hour per week)
- Integrate behavioral health with client health needs and refer to appropriate services
