Job Summary
Software Engineering Intern role embedded in Trimble Access development team in Christchurch, focusing on analyzing, designing, implementing, and testing bug fixes and software enhancements within the core codebase; collaborate with a global team to support GNSS receivers, optical total stations, and smart targets; apply software engineering practices to problem-solving; partner with a mentor to build predictability in engineering output, scheduling, and product quality; 12-week paid internship with buddy/mentorship, site visit, and internship community benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or related field
- Exposure to programming languages and development processes
- Solid understanding of common software design patterns
- Bonus: Experience with C++ in mobile/embedded environments
- Familiarity with cross-platform development (Windows and Android)
Desired Qualifications
- Pursuing relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or related field
- Exposure to programming languages and development processes
- Solid understanding of common software design patterns
