Job Summary
Join WSP’s Ottawa Buildings team as a Structural Engineering Student for the Fall term and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers and designers on real projects that shape the communities where we live and work. This internship involves supporting the design, modeling, and coordination of structural systems for building projects, assisting with quantity estimates and construction review activities including site visits, reviewing shop drawings and change orders, participating in design meetings with project teams, clients, and construction partners, and contributing to real project delivery while learning the full lifecycle of structural engineering projects in a mentorship-focused environment. Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of a university program in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related engineering technology discipline.
- A strong interest in buildings, structures, and the construction process.
- Curiosity about engineering consulting and a willingness to learn through hands-on experience.
- Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Initiative and a collaborative mindset.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Eligibility to obtain Reliability Security Clearance (as required for certain client projects).
- Working-at-heights training (considered an asset).
