Job Summary
Capture high-quality photos and videos for social media campaigns, events, and promotional content using an iPhone, Canon EOS R10/DSLR, or similar equipment. Edit and produce polished, platform-ready video assets with cuts, transitions, captions, and sound design, while enhancing raw photos to meet brand aesthetic standards. Translate raw footage into finished social-ready assets like Reels, Stories, and carousels, and monitor emerging trends to flag opportunities for real-time creation. Organize and archive media files, coordinate shoot logistics, and support the rollout of content across platforms. Work remotely up to one day per week with regular in-office collaboration required, reporting to the Marketing team at the World Trade Center Department.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
- Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region
- Interest in public service and/or transportation
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines efficiently
- Willingness to learn
- Strong passion for photography, videography, and visual storytelling, with a creative eye for composition, lighting, and aesthetics
- Proficiency in photography and video editing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or native social media content creation
- Previous experience with photography, videography, or editing software is required
- Flexibility in your schedule so you can attend events and project requests outside of standard operating hours
- Reliable, responsible, works well with others, positive attitude, self-starter & proactive
- Ability to handle iPhone photography and videography for dynamic projects
- Strong passion for visual storytelling, with an eye for composition, lighting, and color grading
- Ability to create engaging and visually cohesive content aligned with the organization's brand identity
- Experience managing a photo and video database, including archiving and labeling media assets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear interaction with team members
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, sharing creative input and integrating feedback
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and multi-task effectively
- Demonstrates a self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently
- Positive, proactive approach to problem-solving and taking ownership of tasks
- In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days, or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs
- Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person
