Job Summary
Social Media Intern for Oklahoma City Thunder responsible for monitoring platforms, collaborating with broadcast production, marketing and social media to fulfill social media requests from internal departments, supporting social media strategy for entertainment groups (Thunder Girls, Rumble, Thunder Drummers), identifying opportunities to extend Thunder branding via social channels, pitching content ideas across platforms (X, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat), gathering video/photo content at games/events, assisting with social media content creation by writing copy and publishing posts across Thunder channels, and performing administrative tasks. The internship offers professional development activities, access to resume reviews, networking opportunities, and perks including paid downtown parking and tickets to Thunder home games. In-person, 16-29 hours per week, primary work location Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City, with occasional local travel requiring a valid driver’s license. Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive course credit for the internship
- Student pursuing a degree in marketing, digital media, or communications preferred
- Experience with DSLR camera preferred
- Experience with Adobe premiere or similar video editing software preferred
- Bi-lingual students are highly preferred, especially with fluency in Spanish
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Self-starter who also enjoys team environment collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication as well as strong listening skills
- Dependability, with the ability to commit to the internship for a full semester
