Intern-Respiratory Care

Provide technical assistance and patient care under the direction of a Licensed Mississippi Respiratory Care Practitioner for a defined group of patients. Set up low-flow oxygen monitoring, perform non-exotic aerosol therapy, conduct hyperinflation and airway clearance, and run electrocardiograms outside critical care areas. Execute equipment cleaning, stocking, and transport duties. Assess patients, contribute to and implement plans of care, and evaluate care outcomes. Assist in cardiorespiratory arrests if BLS certified. Participate in activities improving health care delivery, build clinical leadership knowledge, and complete assigned goals. Requires current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program.
