Job Summary
Support engineering staff with data collection, process observations, and basic analysis on assigned production lines. Assist in drafting, updating, and organizing SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation. Participate in engineering projects such as equipment upgrades, workflow improvements, process optimization trials, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ). Prepare materials, records, and documentation for process studies and improvement initiatives. Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering information, documenting issues, and assisting engineers with temporary or permanent solutions. Track KPIs, update dashboards, and prepare summary reports for the engineering team. Participate in Kaizen, Lean, and continuous improvement workshops. Assist in developing training materials and supporting production teams during new process rollouts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, and Maintenance. Contribute to engineering initiatives involving CAD/CAM, equipment evaluations, process characterization, or material handling projects.
Required Qualifications
- Rising junior or senior
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
- Engineering principles
- Problem-solving methodologies
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data
- Foundational knowledge of statistical concepts
- Process analysis tools
- Coursework acceptable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Prior internship or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Exposure to regulated industries such as medical device, aerospace, or automotive
