Job Summary
Assist scientists in setting up and executing experiments, ranging from early-stage product screening to routine Quality Control testing. Prepare materials for bioassays, maintain multiple insect species through diet preparation and cage management, and record data for in vitro and in planta evaluations. Clean laboratory and greenhouse areas, including glassware and growing containers. Commit to 10-15 hours per week during the school year with a schedule established upon hiring.
Required Qualifications
- Currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences
- Hands-on lab and greenhouse experience
- A professional and positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
- Commitment to work at least 10-15 hours per week during the school year
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with help or independently occasionally
- A pre-employment background check will be required
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer an emphasis in entomology, nematology or plant pathology
