Job Summary
Pharmacy Intern I at Denver Health, supervised by a pharmacist, learns and practices basic operational and clinical skills to support safe and effective medication use. Responsibilities include filling and delivering medications, compounding for outpatient services, triaging inquiries, coordinating insurance billing for prescriptions, processing patient information in pharmacy systems, and escalating questions outside the intern’s scope. Collaborates with pharmacy leadership, peers, nurses, and providers to improve patient outcomes and participates in departmental meetings and trainings. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and active enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy. Skills include knowledge of basic pharmacy practices, mathematical computation, organization, communication, teamwork, and computer proficiency. Salary is $22.59 per hour, with PRN/intermittent shift type, located at Main Campus, Denver Health, Denver, CO.
