Intern - Government Relations (FALL)

Job Summary
Coordinate Government Relations initiatives by assisting with legislative advocacy activities, including tracking current legislation, covering congressional hearings, and summarizing policy debates. Develop materials for lobbying and outreach efforts through creating presentations, writing articles, and coordinating press releases with the Communications Department. Manage special outreach tasks, maintain vote/policy stance grids, and participate in meetings with key stakeholders and trade associations. Work with the government relations team and other corporate functions to execute significant business projects. This full-time summer internship in Canonsburg, PA, runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for up to 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Prior business exposure through internships, work experiences, or campus organizations
- Currently pursuing a major in Political Science, Public Relations, Communication or related fields
- General knowledge and awareness of government processes
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Willingness to work in a non-partisan manner
- Strong research, writing, communications skills
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects at once
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
- Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time
