Job Summary
Develop and maintain embedded C software for automotive ECUs, working with TCP/IP stacks from LwIP, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Linux. Debug software and hardware issues using tools like Lauterbach or P&E Micro, while performing root-cause analysis on faults. Support software design and documentation activities. This internship offers hands-on exposure to complex networking challenges in Automotive Ethernet and communication stacks, ideal for students in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Embedded Systems. The role includes potential security-related tasks and requires strong C programming skills and familiarity with RTOS environments.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded or Automotive Systems
- Strong C programming skills for embedded systems
- Familiarity with OSI layers, AUTOSAR communication and diagnostics concepts
- Experience with at least one RTOS or embedded OS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux)
- Experience with low-level debugging and hardware bring-up
- Good software design and analytical skills
- Internship in Hamburg must be a mandatory part of your study program
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with TCP/IP stacks from LwIP, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Linux environments to develop standalone SW for automotive use cases
- Debug software and hardware issues using Lauterbach, P&E Micro, or similar tools
- Perform root-cause analysis of software and HW-related faults

- The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks
