Intern - Device Build

On-siteSan Francisco, California, United States

Full TimeEntry LevelBachelors DegreeStartup

Job Summary

Assemble, wire, and bench-test Navi devices for audio capture, mounting, and cable harnesses while diagnosing failures on returned units to feed insights back into the build. Improve fixturing and assembly documentation to accelerate future production, track inventory and BOMs to prevent deployment stalls, and assist in preparing shipments. Work alongside hardware, firmware, and software engineers to close the loop between built units and pilot experience. You must be comfortable with hand tools, wiring, and basic electronics debugging, willing to perform unglamorous assembly and testing with consistent precision. This hands-on internship places you directly with the founding team, where your work ships to real aircraft at flight schools, airlines, and the U.S. Air Force.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Comfortable with hand tools, wiring and basic electronics debugging
  • Careful and consistent
  • You've built physical things
  • Willing to do the unglamorous work
  • Curious about why things fail and persistent enough to find out
  • Comfortable in ambiguity

Desired Qualifications

  • You know how to fly. A private pilot certificate, student pilot time, or any flight training
  • Familiarity with aviation systems, avionics, or general aviation aircraft
  • CAD, 3D printing, or fabrication experience
  • Basic scripting for test automation or data validation
