Job Summary
Intern Computer Vision and Automation in Electron Microscopy – join ZEISS Solutions Lab and help build customized automation solutions for electron microscopy workflows, from image acquisition to image analysis. Work with data scientists to implement full hardware automation and computer vision pipelines, including microscope control, image preprocessing, object detection/segmentation, and final statistical analysis. Requires strong Python programming, experience with numpy/scikit-image/pandas, willingness to learn in a collaborative, agile team, and good communication with customers. English or German proficiency expected; complete application documents (CV, transcript).
Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed at least 2 years of study in a STEM field
- Completed classes in computer science, mathematics, physics or other STEM subjects with advanced programming skills
- Strong proficiency with Python and the scientific ecosystem (e.g., numpy, scikit-image, pandas)
- Ability to work independently in an goal- and output-oriented manner
- Good communication skills to work with customers
- Experience or familiarity with agile, interdisciplinary teams
- First experience with electron microscopes and/or machine learning is an advantage
- Fluent English or German
