Intern - Communications and PR

Job Summary
Support internal and external communications as the Communications & PR Intern by helping drive employee engagement messaging and developing social media and website content. Duties include collecting, editing, and publishing intranet content on SharePoint (including videos, photo galleries, and written pieces); planning company events; interviewing stakeholders (including C-suite) for intranet/newsletter content; assisting with monthly internal newsletters; aiding internal communications campaigns; maintaining annual calendars for internal comms, social media, and intranet content; supporting annual safety campaigns with Safety and Training teams (SharePoint content, videos, emails); assisting with corporate philanthropy events; helping with town halls and livestreams; taking event photos; posting to social media accounts and creating posts/graphics; coordinating award submissions and media relations; running reports on social media, website, and PR efforts; collaborating with Marketing on branding and collateral; researching and implementing new content/branding for the company website; supporting internal and external communications for RailPros de Mexico and RailPros Canada; contributing to an inclusive workplace culture; adhering to company policies and applicable laws.
Required Qualifications
- Completed or working toward a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, or English (junior level and above)
- Willing to work in hybrid environment (minimum of 2 days per week in-office)
- Knowledge of social media tools and platforms; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SharePoint; Canva; WordPress; SEO; HubSpot; HTML is a plus
