Intern Coach Program Supervisor

Job Summary

Lead the planning, coordination, and ongoing development of Pivotal's intern coaching program, including managing annual recruitment and onboarding. Provide initial and ongoing training, coaching, and supervision to BASW and MSW interns, facilitating regular individual and group supervision sessions. Develop and update the intern training manual and curriculum annually while monitoring program checkpoints, timelines, and outcomes to support continuous improvement. Serve as a liaison with university partners, county partners, and DFCS to uphold program integrity and represent Pivotal at external meetings. Address urgent intern needs by phone or email within 24 hours and proactively develop support plans for performance concerns. Report in accordance with California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting requirements and participate in weekly supervision with the Director of Coaching Programs.

Required Qualifications

  • MSW required, two years post-graduation
  • Knowledge of the foster care system
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational equity
  • Superior presentation, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Full background check
  • TB clearance
  • Current driver's insurance
  • Participation in the DMV pull program
  • Flexibility to work on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid environment
  • Mandatory meetings at PIVOTAL's main San Jose office
  • Additional in-office attendance as needed for meetings, events, or program needs
  • Ability to transport scholars as needed
  • Full-time, exempt position status
  • Hybrid work classification

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with foster youth
  • Experience supervising direct practice staff or social work interns
  • Experience using data to guide direct practice work
  • Knowledge of high school and Post-Secondary education systems
  • Knowledge of special education and both the high school and Post-Secondary system (community college and university)
  • Demonstrated ability to hold staff to high standards and achieve measurable results
  • Ability and desire to relate to, and work with, a diverse scholar population
