Job Summary
Analyze and process business documents, prepare financial statement journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare tax information, test SOX and Non-SOX controls, and assist in budget preparation. Interface with various departments outside the Controller's Organization to develop collaborative relationships. As you progress, perform complex analysis, present ideas in formal meetings, and mentor less experienced accountants. Opportunities exist for transfer to operational components such as refining and logistics, or roles in tax, internal audit, and supply chain. Concentrate on developing analytical skills valued across the Company's downstream energy operations.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting major
- Strong academic performance
- Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Concurrent enrollment in a bachelors degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience
- Ability to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work
- Availability to work 40 hours per week
Desired Qualifications
- Accounting major is preferred, but other business majors may be considered
