Job Summary
Track top-level publications and patents in optical design, imaging, and nano/micro-optics to produce literature analysis reports. Perform industry trend analysis to identify high-value technologies for business scope, outputting technical insight reports. Execute design work for traditional imaging optics such as mobile phone cameras, telescopes, microscopes, and flat optics like meta-lenses. Assist in formulating device specifications, building experiment/test setups, and collecting and analyzing data. Requires current enrollment in optics, optoelectronics, or physics with strong theoretical knowledge in geometrical and physical optics. Fluent in English and self-responsible work within a diverse, globally connected team at Huawei's Kepler Research Center in Jena.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Bachelor or Master student in optics, optoelectronics, or physics
- Strong theoretical knowledge in geometrical, diffractive and/or physical optics
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in optical design and simulation
- Programming skills, particularly experience with Python and/or other high-level scripting languages
- Ability and experience to independently search the literature and patent in optical area
- Ability to work in a team with multiple cultural backgrounds
