Job Summary
Conduct general housekeeping and maintenance operations in the fermentation lab, including cleaning work areas, organizing equipment, and storing supplies. Prepare media and solutions, maintain inventory of raw materials, and prepare equipment for upcoming experiments. Perform measurements on fermentation samples and maintain written batch records. Execute research experiments depending on ability and availability. Support scientists working on fermentation process development from bench to pilot scale.
Required Qualifications
- College student
- preferably enrolled in biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering or related fields
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others
- Able to sit and/or stand for up to 2-4 hours at a time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
