Job Summary
Coordinate planning and logistics for the annual Fall Gala, including securing auction items, researching sponsors, and managing event show flow. Create social media content, including posts, stories, and reels, while updating event collateral and assisting with vendor bookings. Support development e-communications and send thank-you notes to stakeholders. Attend supporting events to capture photos and assist with day-of operations. This unpaid, 10-week internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit management, event planning, and business development within a mission-driven organization dedicated to ending social isolation for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of social media
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Must be comfortable engaging with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Must be comfortable making asks to potential sponsors and businesses you may not know to support Best Buddies
- Intern will be required to attend supporting events during internship
