Job Summary
Support the planning and logistics of the annual Fall Gala by reaching out to local businesses for auction items, coordinating vendor bookings, and managing event show flow. Create social media content including posts, stories, and reels for the website and event communications, while assisting with publicity, in-kind donations, and third-party fundraiser details. Research potential sponsors aligned with the mission and send out thank-you notes to stakeholders. This unpaid, 10-week internship requires 10-15 hours weekly and involves engaging with the community and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to drive integrated employment and leadership development.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of social media
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Must be comfortable engaging with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Must be comfortable making asks to potential sponsors and businesses you may not know to support Best Buddies
- Intern will be required to attend supporting events during internship
