Job Summary
Intern at SES Construction and Fuel Services supporting federal construction projects in a general contracting and self-performing MEP environment. You’ll work alongside engineers, project managers, and field teams in both office and on-site settings, assisting with project planning, coordination, design review, and field execution. Responsibilities include assisting with daily construction activities, scheduling and documentation support for project managers, reviewing drawings and submittals, contributing to quantity takeoffs and basic estimating, preparing project documentation (RFIs, submittals, reports), participating in jobsite meetings and-follow-ups, monitoring progress with attention to productivity, safety, and quality, supporting safety initiatives and regulatory compliance, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and performing general administrative and project support tasks. Minimum qualifications emphasize enrollment in a related bachelor’s program, strong interest in construction/PM, proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to read drawings, and strong communication and teamwork skills. The position reports locally to JBER and involves both office and outdoor site work with physical requirements and safety PPE considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in construction, engineering, or project management
- Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
