Job Summary
Internship opportunity in AI-powered Vision Inspection within a live manufacturing environment. Focuses on developing and improving AI models for image-based product inspection (machine learning and computer vision) with a secondary scope in software and web tool development for system monitoring. Responsibilities include analyzing inspection results, monitoring Vision system performance, supporting dashboards and monitoring tools for the engineering team, collecting and preparing image data for model training, collaborating with the team to propose system improvements, and documenting progress and test results. Part of WD’s Early Career program providing structured onboarding, mentorship, and development.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering (preferred), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent
- Co-op Internship period of at least 4–8 months
- Skills: Machine Learning or Image Processing experience with proficiency in Python; familiarity with OpenCV, PyTorch, YOLO, or PaDiM
- Foundational web development knowledge in JavaScript, MySQL, REST API; experience with Nuxt.js and Golang is an advantage
- Basic understanding of vision system components such as cameras, lighting, and sensors
- Quick learner with a positive mindset, strong logical thinking, and keen attention to detail
- Highly motivated for professional growth with good English proficiency and effective collaboration skills
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
