Job Summary
Conduct client-centered intake and referral services for individuals and families, gathering pertinent information to connect them with appropriate community resources. Triage and de-escalate persons in crisis, file reports for abuse, neglect, exploitation, and self-neglect, and support comprehensive client assessments and written service plans. Provide advocacy, case management, and supportive counseling while collaborating with diverse staff and community groups to address environmental and interpersonal relationship issues. Cover the APS Intake Line and Afterhours Line on a rotating basis, assist in emergency situations, and participate in community outreach activities. This part-time internship is open for the Fall 2026 semester for candidates enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's social work program.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's level social work or related program (administrative, human services, psychology, etc.) at an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated ability to render adequate service to clients and to organize and manage jobs efficiently
- Requires mobility to work with a community-based caseload
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups
- Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks
- Ability to reach the Midway site
- Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
