Job Summary
Drive dedicated intermodal freight as a solo CDL-A operator, handling preloads, drops, live loads, and live unloads exclusively in the Northeast region. Operate containers across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts without touching freight, avoiding New York City traffic. Work day and night shifts on a Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedule with weekend coverage, returning home daily. This role requires living within 50 miles of Avenel, NJ, and involves navigating Northeast weather conditions, including winter driving. Required Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must have held a U.S. driver's license the last 12 consecutive months
- Current DOT medical card (new DOT physical required at hire)
- No endorsements required for this position
- 6 months OTR experience within the last 12 months, OR 12 months OTR experience within the last 5 years
- Experienced drivers only — no trainees or recent graduates on this account
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
- No serious traffic violations in the last 12 months
- Speeding 30+ MPH over = automatic disqualification for 3 years
- Original ticket copies required for all citations in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 DOT preventable accident in the last 2 years
- No major preventable accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 preventable incidents in the last 2 years
- Preventable rear-end accident = 1 year disqualification
- Accident reports required for ALL accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 4 driving jobs in the last 12 months
- No more than 1 safety-related termination in the last 5 years
- No DUI/DWI in a commercial vehicle — ever
- No DUI/DWI in the last 10 years while holding a CDL or CLP
- No DUI/DWI in the 5 years before obtaining your CDL or CLP
- No multiple DUI/DWIs
- No failed or refused drug tests — no exceptions
- Hair AND urine testing required, both must be passed
- No drug-related convictions in the last 5 years
- Must live within 50 miles of ZIP 07001 (Avenel, NJ)
- Weekend work required
- Comfortable with Northeast winters and weather conditions
