Job Summary
Intermediate Transmission Line Design Engineer responsible for leading transmission line design efforts for major utility and energy clients, using PLS-CADD to produce plans and profiles, performing structure recommendations, insulation, grounding studies, design of routes, right-of-way considerations, and QA/QC of design packages. Requires Bachelor's in Electrical, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; 1+ year post-education experience in transmission line design up to 115 kV HVAC; knowledge of NESC, AISC, IEEE and ANSI; experience with Finite Element modeling within PLS-CADD, POLE, & TOWER; MFAD, HFAD, LPILE, AutoCAD, and MicroStation; PSCAD is a plus; ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate with clients, and travel on-site as needed.
