Job Summary
Join as an Intermediate Tax Accountant responsible for preparing financial statements, tax returns, and BAS for various client types including companies and SMSFs. Key duties involve conducting thorough reviews of tax compliance documents, supervising interns and junior accountants, and ensuring adherence to AAG processes. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to meet ATO deadlines. Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA/CA pursuit, and experience in supervising staff, with 2-4 years in an Australian Public Practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is mandatory
- 2-4 years of experience in Business Services within an Australian Public Practice
- 2+ years experience supervising and mentoring team members
- Thorough understanding of current tax laws and statutory regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Proficient time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proven ability to meet deadlines set by AAG, clients, and ATO
- Result-oriented mindset with a strong focus on teamwork
- Proficient in logical thinking, problem-solving, and possessing sound mathematical skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other AAG departments to resolve issues and ensure client satisfaction
- Capable of independently completing tasks when required
- Exemplifies trustworthiness, honesty, and maintains confidentiality at all times
- Aptitude in preparing returns and workpapers to reduce review time
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
Desired Qualifications
- CPA/CA Australia qualification or in the process of obtaining it
- Completion of Knowledge Shop Intermediate training course
- Proficiency in non-accounting systems such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Apple Mail, and Daylite
