Job Summary

Contribute to technical aspects of positioning services projects by evaluating customer requirements, decomposing system functional and performance needs, and developing architecture trade-off studies. Assess cross-domain dependencies through simulation and modeling to enable data-driven decisions for optimal system performance. Coordinate systems integration planning and participate in verification and validation activities, ensuring design compliance with requirements, standards, and specifications while balancing cost and time-to-market. Complete system analyses for reliability, maintainability, testability, usability, safety, and security. Work within a multi-disciplinary team to mitigate technical risks and support diverse projects in Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions business area based in Calgary, AB.

Required Qualifications

  • Systems Engineering expertise applied to complex technical solutions
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, science or engineering with 3+ years in a systems engineering related role
  • Understanding the product development life cycle
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with systems thinking
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Technical research abilities with the aptitude for sharing of information and expertise
  • Strong systems and software architectural design and analysis skills
  • Effective application of reliability engineering principles (e.g. FMEA, FTA, RCA, MTBF, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • General knowledge of GNSS technologies, or digital communication protocols
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (UML, SysML) and related tools, such as Enterprise Architect (EA)
  • Expertise with one or more requirements management tools, such as Polarion or DOORS
  • Experience working in development environments that follow standards such as ISO-16949, ASPICE, etc.
