Job Summary
Manage, analyze, and process survey data using Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D for highway engineering and land surveying projects across the Lower Mainland and British Columbia. Interpret field data, notes, and sketches to ensure accurate understanding of captured information, then create 3D surfaces, contours, alignments, and cross sections. Research land titles for property boundary details and generate base plans, legal plans, and other drawings from raw data. Provide simple survey calculations for Surveyors based on client-supplied drawings and perform quality control on all survey data and plans. Work closely with Project Managers to deliver projects on schedule, supported by a competitive salary range of $74,670 - $103,700 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology or GIS
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience as a Survey Technician
- Minimum of 1 year field experience
- High level of understanding of survey principles and calculations
- Good understanding of BC land titles systems
- Working knowledge of traverse adjustments and control network analysis
- Working knowledge of Civil3D, Trimble Business Center
- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
- Ability to conduct complex survey calculations (coordinate geometry, volumes, cross sections, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eligible for Registration as AScT or C.Tech. with ASTTBC
